POLICIES

Students: We teach children, teens, and adults. The minimum age for children to take our classes is 8 years old, although some at that age are more ready than others. If you trust your child to safely handle sharp objects, your child is probably ready! (We take on students younger than 8 only after individual consultation with you and your child. Please come to the shop to arrange this.)

Tuition and Materials: We set our class fees to cover the cost of instruction and related overhead. The cost of materials and the use of our sewing machines (and basic notions such as pins, scissors, etc.) ARE included in the fee, UNLESS otherwise stated at the time of booking. You are always welcome to bring your own tools, sewing machine, and fabrics. Please note that any scraps you leave behind become community scraps!

Payment Policies: All classes, workshops, other events, and memberships require registration and prepayment, which can be done online or in store. Sign ups generally are open until 24 hours before the class or series starts. Workshops and other events may have different registration or prepayment requirements.

Extra Time: All of our classes now have one make-up session built in on the 4th week of the schedule. This is dedicated time, with the instructor present, to cover material a student missed (one class) or assist a student in completing their class project(s).

Cancellations and Rescheduling: We understand that things happen and sometimes neither of us (Ready Set Stitch, or you) can make a class. We will do our best to give you as much advance notice as possible and ask that you do the same for us. If we have to cancel a class/series after you’ve paid for it but before it begins, we will give you a full store credit. If we have to cancel a class/series after it has started, we will offer a make up for the missed class(es) or give you a prorated store credit. If you wish to cancel a class/series after you've paid for it but before it begins, at least 7 days in advance, we will give you a full store credit to apply to another class/series. If notice to cancel is given between 1-6 days in advance, we will give you a 50% store credit to apply to another class/series. If notice that you will miss a class is given between 1-6 days in advance, and unless otherwise stated at the time of booking, we will offer to schedule a make up class. Note: Emergency cancellations will be handled on a case-by-case basis. We cannot offer refunds or store credit for classes that you cancel or miss without giving us advance notice.
